The Idaho FFA Foundation Ambassador Program blog series continues with more highlights from some of our 2024 student Ambassadors! In this blog series, some of our Ambassadors discuss their experience in FFA, what they are currently up to in their FFA chapter, and more! Check out the below blog from our Ambassador, Katy Stewart!
“My name is Katy Stewart, and I am from the Meridian FFA chapter. I am now president of my chapter and vice president of my district, the Boise Valley District. I have shown both my lambs at the Western Idaho Fair and the Canyon County Fair. Currently, I am preparing to go to the National FFA Convention. I am not competing this year, but I am extremely excited to attend the National FFA Convention. I am also preparing for my process of running for Idaho FFA State Office!
Some of the fun things that I have been up to include hosting our Boise Valley District event, helping to run our elementary Ag Expo (which includes over 3,000 elementary students) and starting the strenuous process of applying to college. FFA has prepared me tremendously for my future and I am very honored to wear my FFA blue jacket.
My FFA blue jacket has taken me from chapter competitions all the way to nationwide conferences. I encourage every FFA member to be as involved as they can as they move through the FFA program. Not only is this organization about competition, but it’s also about growing yourself into the person you want to be. I am thankful for my journey and encourage others to kickstart their journey. This year will be extremely packed with fun and exciting things, and I am very blessed to be given these opportunities!”
